Here is a piece I did for an art show last year. I used both oil and chalk pastel :)
I made this out of paper, Cardboard, Ziploc bag, and magazine around this time last year. the fox and turkeys are watercolored.
I learned more about the <3 of art:
As an artist, I believe it is my purpose to create postitive things. Art should inspire people to do good!
Modern artist may say "Let's cheat, copy, destroy, and trace things!" But as for me and my art, I will make things uplifting. Therefore, I chose not to participate. One day we had a clay workshop. I decided to sneak away from the mural to work with my favorite element- clay. Clay fulfills my yearn to create the 3-D things I picture in my mind. Clay is an upgrade from my childhood memories of playing with Playdough. 8th grade I spent an entire trimester just sculpting and creating. I struggled to think of what I could create with this element. The first word that exploded in my head was water. The wave of ideas subsided when I thought of a single drop of water hitting the ground. The moment has been photographed many times, but has never been truly captured into a 3-D shape.
We have had a lot of conflict trying to get our mural together. First, we had to figure out how to get the image projected and when we could try to draw it all up there without the image being moved. We decided on using a laptop and drawing during Band 2. It was was difficult to get everything up but now the idea is outlined!
I have started a deep complicated Illustration Friday. Here is the main photo I am drawing from. I will post this project as soon as I finish sketching it.
When I thought of octopus the picture of an octopus doing eight things at once came to mind. Then I thought about how much my mom has to multitask, so I drew that.
My favorite problem solving project was the Taco-Bell Sushi machines. The problem was trying to get a chain of events to happen with junk. We chose to have a ball roll and paint paper at the end. Unfortunately, we didn't test the paint before to see if the ball would even roll through it! This week I worked on making a small animal. When I was little I used to play with plastic animals, so I wanted to create one. I only had a little ball of Sculptee to work with and I decided to make a baby zebra pegasus.
