When I thought of octopus the picture of an octopus doing eight things at once came to mind. Then I thought about how much my mom has to multitask, so I drew that.
My favorite problem solving project was the Taco-Bell Sushi machines. The problem was trying to get a chain of events to happen with junk. We chose to have a ball roll and paint paper at the end. Unfortunately, we didn't test the paint before to see if the ball would even roll through it! This week I worked on making a small animal. When I was little I used to play with plastic animals, so I wanted to create one. I only had a little ball of Sculptee to work with and I decided to make a baby zebra pegasus.
I used to think copying was wrong because someone spent a lot of work on their piece and copying mocks their ideas.
After this unit, I learned nothing is truly original. If you copy because you love the art piece it is a form of flattery. I didn't realize I actually have been completly copying when I draw from the art I have collected in Pintrest. I was doing it to practice my skills because I adored the way the original artist's art ended up. Sometimes you copy because you love the subject the artist chose and you tweek it a bit so a part of you is expressed. |
