I have never drawn someone I know well, so I decided to try to paint my sister. In class, we learned about porportions. I found out the mouth is 1/3 of the bottom part of the face. I also explored painting skin color. First you have to mix red, yellow, and a touch of brown. You take a little bit of the mixture and put it in 5 different places. Then you add different amounts of white to each place. Then you have different shades of the same skin color. This is the first portrait I have done a background for.

I like this a lot. I especially like the hair and I'm glad you were able to learn some new things about painting people like the proportions and skin tones:)
