Hallelujah, I finally finished!!!! This piece is a shadow box with layers of paper. One technique I learned was how to cut curves with an X-Acto. For large curved, I would sometimes twist the paper while holding the knife still. When you cute intricate designs, you first cut the details then you cut out your shape. That way you have more support while you cut out tiny pieces.
I was successful at cutting where I planned. I ran into several challenges, and with help came up with successful solutions. Next project, I will choose a less time-consuming design. In the future, I probably will have a simple outline and if time permits, add details as I work.
The quote "A fish may love a bird, but where would they live?" from Ever After: A Cinderella Story inspired me to create this scene. That quote drove me to finish this project and incorporate everything I planned.
